Farmers Market on Sunday

Friday, September 10th, 2010

Our Sunday market on Cortelyou has a new manager, Chelsea Whittaker, who emails that the market will take place as usual:

This week, the market will take part in the yearly Flatbush Frolic! Come celebrate your Flatbush community by spending the day at the street fair and farmer’s market. And bring your kids along – they will be entertained with lots of fun activities provided by the Prospect Park Zoo.

The market is on Sundays from 8am to 4pm and is located on Cortelyou Road between Argyle and Rugby Streets. Use your EBT (food stamps), debit, and credit cards in the market.

Hope to see you in the market on Sunday!

We can use plastic at the market? News to me!

YES! you can “buy” tokens in $5 increments with your credit card! Super convenient for those like me who carry very little cash, and who then want to buy all those goodies that look so inviting at the market.

AND you get your change in cash! Note: sometimes the venders get confused between these and the EBT tokens (for which they cannot give cash back) you might have to remind them that they are credit card tokens.
