Brick Oven Pizza

Friday, November 13th, 2009

brick oven pizzaRemember all that talk about Solo having a brick oven pizza? Well, the oven is there, and soon, we’re told, you’ll be able to order a slice at Solo or take it to go. (Just off the corner of Cortelyou and Marlborough).

    Mmmmm…

Sounds great – though we really like San Remo, competition is good.

San Remo rocks! Be careful when you order x-tra cheese or pepperoni, it’s too much.

I’ve been here for over 30 years…San Remo the only place for a long time…now it is too expensive…had pizza at Grimaldi’s In DUMBO on Thursday… Heineken $4 a bottle…at San Remo’s $6 (or was it $7)…they’re are thinking too much of themselves

two and a quarter for a slice is standard everywhere.

Very happy to have a brick oven pizza option in the neighborhood. If they had a beer tap, the place would be unstoppable…

I’ve been wanting to try Solo, but am not really interested in getting a bottle of beer I could buy at a deli/store. If I go out for a beer, I want a good draft beer, and the fact they don’t have a tap is crazy. I’m excited to try the pizza…I just wish I could have it with a cold draft brew!

I recall that the previous bar in that space tried for a long time without success to install taps. I think there must be an issue with the building.

    Solo does have tap beer…

Huh. Excited about more pizza…but not sure a “brick” facade over a tin oven counts as “brick-oven”.

The fire over San Remo is getting more and more suspicious!
