Mehmet and his cart on Cortelyou, across the street from the Flatbush Food Coop. He brought his NYC Green Cart to this corner a few weeks back. He has nice fruit at good prices. Welcome to the neighborhood. (Photo by Geronimo Madrid).

    There’s a Green Cart on the corner of Newkirk and East 16th street that started last fall and they are also fantastic. They have great fruit and some veggies at great prices and are just so friendly with me and my son. In fact, today I bought some beautiful vine ripe tomatoes for .99 a lb. can’t beat that!

    I love it that he can offer lowere prices because he doesn’t have to pay rent! YEAH! I’m sure all the stores that sell fruit and vegetables are as excited!
