Birdman of the B68

This man got on the B68 bus on Coney Island Avenue carrying a loose pigeon, and though he seemed to have good control of it, passengers still looked nervous. The man didn’t speak much English, so I couldn’t find out where the bird came from, why he carries it around, or anything else, but he did tell me, “I love him and he loves me.”

If you’ve got a crazy animal in commute story, there’s the one to beat.

They seemed pretty attached to one another. But it’s a pretty ratty looking bird. So I’d guess former wild pigeon that’s now a pet, maybe?

Ewwww…how can they allow him to get on? Did he hide the pigeon before paying for his fare? If they allow disgusting pigeons on, they they should allow friendly pets to get on as well…just saying!

Gross. Then again, there are people who are far filthier on every public transportation. A pigeon would probably be cleaner than some.
