LOL! I’ve noticed that sign too and wondered what the significance was. Dale must be an awesome guy. Maybe we should start saluting our employees at Urban Martial Arts in such a public manner. :)

My dad has an auto parts store, and I can tell you that countermen and other staff are sought after and celebrated- it’s amazing. It’s like a hair salon!

I happen to LOVE the JiffyLube on CIA. They are always total gentlemen in there, never try to upsell me services (well not too hard, anyway), and offer me a cup of coffee while I wait. I wish every car shop was that nice. Maybe Dale is the reason why!

I’ve always found Jiffy Lubes sorta overpriced… but perhaps Dale makes it worth it!

    All Hale Dale!

I never noticed that they give a free car wash too. I’ve always gone to the “Golden Touch” on 4th Ave. I get an oil change and my car gets it’s bath and vacuuming. And they’re all really nice and friendly. Never tried to “upsell” anything. (I can go to Pep Boys or wherever and change my own air filter and windshield wipers, thank you very much.)

Does Jiffy Lube’s car wash include vacuuming?

Also, it’s really unfair to this place because they actually don’t do this… but I have sort of mentally removed all of the CIA car related businesses from my list because of the many businesses that have decided CIA should only be a 1-lane road and their business can spread out as far as they like.

  • Be careful a J-lube

I have a small 4 cylinder car and it only takes 4 quarts of oil. At Jiffy they are so gung-ho that they overfill it and now I have a leak in my engine that is due to overfilling of oil. Make sure they dont over fill your car…the repair is over $500.00 and it is really from that problem.

They were always super amazing to me. Never tried to sell me stupid upgrades or do that really annoying thing where they bring you out and show you all your oils and say you “have” to change everything or your car will explode the moment you drive off the lot (like they do at the place on Church and Coney Is Ave). They do it fast, no hassle, and they give you a car wash ticket. They even offer to give you a new one free should you not use it in the 30 day expiration period.

Seriously, this is the best auto repair place I have ever been to. It’s almost a little weird in a “back to the future” sort of way. The guys run out, open your door and it’s all “yes sir” “can I help you sir” “would you like a cup of coffee while your waiting” they run around like one of those old timey stations from the 1950′s checking tire pressure, vacuum the inside etc. They are so polite I thought I was on some sort of hidden camera tv show!

  • To Wes

It aint an auto repair place, just a oil change and maybe an AC refill joint…they are nice because times are desperate…if the economy gets better, they will go back to what they were before..nasty…

Jiffy Lube is pricey but you will receive a full car wash ticket with an oil change, discounts via mail, and your fluids like deicer and water can be replenished between oil changes. They don’t charge me $10 extra for my “special” air filter like the guy on Church Ave tried to do for a 4 cylinder, 2006 Chevy Malibu.

  • J

Yeah, my air filter costs $8.50 at pep boys… usually $30 “installed” at any oil change place. And I think the last time I went to a Jiffy Lube (not this one), then offered to change my windshield wipers for $14… great! Wait… EACH?!

And I actually stopped in at this Jiffy Lube this morning, needing just the basics to get the “Change Oil Soon” light off, in and out in about 10 mins. …and chatted with the illustrious Dale, who I would happily hire to manage just about any enterprise I can think of.
