Fundraising for Pakistan

Monday, September 6th, 2010

Borough Park Councilman David Greenfield’s office emails that he and other Jewish leaders and groups are helping to raise awareness and to collect food and money for the floods in Pakistan, with a press conference tomorrow at noon at the headquarters of the Pakistani-American group COPO at 1081 Coney:

“I represent part of the largest Pakistani community in America. The flooding in Pakistan is devastating and is being felt throughout the community here in the United States,” said Councilman Greenfield, who represents what is commonly referred to as “Little Pakistan”, which runs along Coney Island Avenue in the Midwood section of Brooklyn.

At the conference, Councilman Greenfield will present canned food to the Council of Peoples Organization. Additionally, Councilman Greenfield will present a check to the American Jewish Joint Distribution Committee’s (JDC) Pakistan Relief Effort.

Here’s a link to the JDC Pakistan Relief Effort, if you’d like to give directly.
