Am I the only person who doesn’t think Mimi’s is all that?

Breuk, you’re not the only one. It’s too garlicky for me.

It’s required that someone say something negative in a comment on nearly every post on this blog, isn’t it? You don’t like Mimi’s and everyone needs to know about it. Why?

I think Mimi’s is all that and a bag of (pita) chips. Now I’ll be thinking about hummus all night. And that dish with the ground beef or lamb served in a skillet with hummus on top.

My favorite is the mushroom hummus. So delicious!

I adore Mimi’s (and Mimi herself). Her Punchim is fantastic.

Well, this blog does seem dedicated to writing positive things about it’s “favored” stores on cortelyou. I imagine there is going to be some feedback that isn’t always positive.

This blog acts as though the neighborhood will fold if any of “those stores” don’t make it. We will survive like we always have.

Yes, Cat…that is what blogs do. They focus on things that interest them. I assume your blog focuses on things you’re not interested in? :)

Sorry for the negativity, but I sincerely wonder that. My boyfriend loves it, so I end up eating there often, and I’m never very impressed. I find the food to be bland, although I do like the grape leaves and the tahini hummus. The pita is excellent, as well. But when something is raved about I do wonder if I’m the only one who feels otherwise.

And since when is any form of criticism “inappropriate”? Where were you when everyone was bashing Picket Fence? When I had those shaksuka eggs (which came highly recommended by a friend) they were just some over easy eggs with the whites still runny on top of bland stewed tomatoes. I don’t get the hype and there’s nothing inappropriate about saying so.

Who said any form of criticism is inappropriate? My “handle” has nothing to do with you. I bet you think this song is about you, don’t you?

I make my own hummus, and add mushrooms as needed…
Tastes great, cheaper…also I have been making my own foie Gras with a few geese I caught from Pospect Park, have been stuffing them, and took the livers out and added them to the hummus…delish! and add some fave beans..yummy!

LOL @ Eric. That is a great photo of the eggs. My negative comment was inspired by how delicious they look in the photo.
