Next to double dragon is a Spanish Diner, and they are exactly part of the Old Post Office, and Double Dragon was connected to Post office... No, I only know 1972, but if you google NY Times for fire at post office you might get date...

Thank you. By 'Diner', are you confirming the 'Double Dragon' location as mentioned or another store? Do we have an exact date (year?) for when the corner PO made its appearance?

You are correct, Allen...the fire was in 1971, and the entrance was where the Diner is today, facing the Plaza...
so there was no post office for a while, and everyone used Ave J branch for that time.

I assume this view is on Marlborough Rd and that it shows the rear of the old post office facility. It could be where 'Double Dragon' is today, and again I assume the original P.O. entrance was on Newkirk Plaza? Do you know when that was moved to its present corner location on E. 16th?
