Parks Department Offices at the Parade Grounds Are Totally Disgusting
Friday, October 28th, 2011
You think your office stinks? The building at the Parade Grounds that houses the Park Enforcement Patrol and the NYPD’s Brooklyn South Task Force has been closed until further notice because of raw sewage that was overflowing into some areas–including their lunch room. Oh, there are also rats, which employees can hear crawling in the walls.
This has been an ongoing problem, and, according to A Walk in the Park, it’s only finally getting the attention of officials because the media has been reporting on it.
If there’s one positive (and really, it’s a stretch), it’s that they got an adorable cat that has been keeping “most” of the rats out of the building. You can see the cat briefly in this ABC 7 video. Thank goodness they haven’t developed smell-o-vision yet.
People say the stench is so bad they can smell it in adjacent buildings–anyone notice it while walking by outside?
