Prosciutto Bread

Wednesday, February 3rd, 2010

Alana from the Market just said that currently there are 2 loaves left of the Royal Crown prosciutto bread for the folks that commented on it. The chocolate bread will be a regular item. They will be ordering more of both for tomorrow and the weekend!

I just wanted to note that they have been incredibly open to ordering stuff that people have mentioned in the comments section, and if there is something you particularly like and they don’t have – do let them know – either at the store or in the comments.

Lemon or almond stuffed olives! Also, any chance they could get fresh hummus? The chocolate bread was great!

Are people unaware that next door to Market is the best hummus restaurant in the city?

Seriously. I’d be surprised if they’d sell hummus unless it was Mimi’s Hummus. Major conflict of interest for the neighbor.

It could be Mimi’s that’s fine. They sell Mimi’s pickles, why not the hummus? (Hopefully in little $5 containers.)

I thought Mimi’s was the same owner of the MArket?

great selection, but a bit pricey for the neighborhood. need more every-day selection. would love to see fresh cold cuts, although i realize that may not be middle eastern. less packaged cheese would be cool. love their bread selection. stumptown coffee, that’s neat.

Market is too small to be “more every-day”. They’re best use of their tiny space is be feature really good stuff that’s NOT easily available that happens also not be too expensive. Like the fig jam and the olives in my frig..

Yes, I meant packaged, ready-to-go hummus. Mimi’s hummus is excellent. I’d be happy to buy it ready to go.

To be clear: The market and Mimi’s Hummus are owned and operated by the same people. If you want hummus and are not willing to wait 5-10 minutes at Mimi’s just call ahead and order to go, should be ready in a bag when you get there.

I love this place. I really like having the option some more difficult specialty items are available when the mood strikes! For me, it is more for the occasional treat as my budget can’t really make it into a regular thing. But boy, do I enjoy the treats! :)
