electric minivans w/ sliding doors and reconfigured seating for 4 in the back. cars need to be able to do at least 65 to handle the trips to the airports. and lose the solid yellow!!!

one thought re the process… london has the best cabs and cab drivers in the world, BY FAR. why not send a few folks over there to see how they run things… and be sure to ask what they would change if they could…

If a cab is getting off shift they are only too happy to come down to ditmas (or brooklyn in general), at other times, not so much.

hi there — I’m glad you’ve had such amazing luck. It’s getting better, no doubt.. BUT you still have to get in the cab and THEN tell the driver where you’re going (after the door is closed and all passengers are in).

What does this mean for the many taxi drivers who live in our neighborhood and around the city? This is the livelihood of I’d guess thousands of people… Will the medallions system change?

By the way, Craig, I’ve never really had your problem. Several taxi drivers I’ve dealt with have said, “oh, Cortelyou and CIA? I live right down the street from you” and head for the BQE with no problem. I’ve never been refused a ride to Bklyn by a taxi driver.
