Calling All Restaurateurs

Friday, June 10th, 2011

Aaron from the Church Avenue Business Improvement District let us know that this prime spot on Church is still available to rent, and they’re right to think the space has a lot of potential. Located between East 10th and Stratford, 1003 Church Ave is a restaurant with a full kitchen, “perfect for a neighborhood entrepreneur catering to the Caton Park/Prospect Park South contingent,” he says.

Based on your comments in the past, we know people are ready for something new on Church, someplace to hang out, drink coffee (or something stronger), or even just get a decent bowl of soup. Someone with a great idea just needs to take the chance!

If you’re interested, call 718-965-7250 for more information.

Aaron appears very enthusiastic to have the location rented. I assume that there is a significant two (2) year discount in rent to help the new establishment take off.

May whomever rents the spot fare better than “Richie Rich (Opening Soon!)” and the departed “Eatry and Pastry” (sic). Between these and the soul-sucking “Number One Restaurant” takeout, it’s a pretty grim strip for dining right now (and everything else). Shayna’s and Huasteca are bright spots by comparison, although I often wonder how Huasteca stays afloat when I so often look in and see them empty. Hope they’re making it up on takeout…

I heard from an employee at the flatbush ave location that the video game chain, Gamestop, is looking at the space. They have been trying to reach out over church ave and feel it would be a great location

Yawwwwn. Better than a vacant storefront, I guess…
