Mimi’s Hummus

Tuesday, January 27th, 2009

Will be (hopefully) opening next week! They have done a fantastic job and completely transformed the space, which now has a small kitchen, a bunch of small tables with chairs and a very friendly feel. Can’t wait to see the menu.

Hummus on Cortelyou

Wednesday, December 3rd, 2008

I wandered by the former Belle & Maxie space on Cortelyou between Argyle and Westminster, and asked the guys inside what’s going on there.

“Hummus” was the word, with the general idea being a small, “welcoming,” and Israeli-style food joint. One of the guys in there was the architect, who also designed Sycamore; one of the co-owners of the bar, I gather, will also be a co-owner of the restaurant.

You can see the outline of the counter in tape on the floor; I failed to ask if there will be any tables, but am hoping a reader can enlighten me.
